Oh come off it. If Machida had no Judo partners or BJJ he would get taken down . Grappling still owns. He is a great fighter but the main thing is you can’t take him down and he has fast hands.
lol im glad you said youre not too failiar wit karate, from your comment i can tell you arent familiar with it, YES they do teach most of the tech for striking that lyoto uses! i know cuz i do karate. and form my experience, lyoto is no muay thai fighter or boxer, he is definitely using mostlye karate, and when he does use muay thai, its usually followed up by a karate technique,
After I watched Lyoto’s first fight in the UFC I said to myself that he would replace Chuck Liddell as the most dominate LHW Champ. Looks like its going to happen. I think alot of people felt that way. You can tell just by looking in his eyes.

Lyoto is very well rounded – sumo, bjj, muay thai, but his karate is off the charts. Much respect to his dad for his training.
